A Delightful New Book For Grandparents To Share With Their Grandchildren

“Ellie’s First Sleepover” by Susan Strauss is a delightful book for grandparents to share with their grandchildren. Ellie is a lovable puppy who tells her own story about how she becomes comfortable having a sleepover with grandparents and shares her fun experiences of this visit. What a lovely way to help grandchildren understand what it means to have a sleepover with grandparents. Hopefully it will encourage children who may be reticent, to try their own sleepover with grandparents. Thanks, Susan, for writing this book!

This book deals with reducing a child's natural fears of leaving the safety of their home and bed, making it exciting to have the positive experiences of sleeping in a new, safe place. The joy of the book's message for children to welcome different environments will stay with a child for many years as they mature. Every child should have the opportunity to hear and see this story.

A Perfect Book for My Granddaughter Preparing for her First Overnight Visit with Us

Wonderful story about Ellie, the puppy, who overcomes her initial reluctance and has an exciting and fun time on her first sleepover with her grandparents. It was so relatable for our granddaughter who has a pet dog who looks just like Ellie. Since Ellie had such a good visit, I think we have convinced our granddaughter she will have a wonderful time with us as well.

Beautiful illustrations, easily understood by young children. A must read for the first overnight!

Adorable little book about a puppy's first sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's

This was a gift for my grandson for the holidays. It showed that Grandma, Grandpa and the puppy were nervous about the sleepover but everyone had a wonderful time and learned to overcome their fears. Also, Mom and Dad loved the puppy and would definitely come back for her at the end of the sleep-over. Very uplifting and a great way to discuss children's fears

Whether reading alone, aloud or to others, the book flows easily and convincingly as the author uses Ellie to narrate her own experiences. She is honest about her feelings about new home. The book also covers the same emotions which can affect anyone who has to leave their 'comfort zone' and enter into a new experience. The large size and colorful pictures add to the enjoyment.
